Angel's story.
My pregnancy was progressing well, My angel was due on the 7th march 2005 but 3 days over and still no sign so I went ahead with my routine antenatal check up. The midwife informed me that my baby's head had become disengaged and she had changed position and because of this she was unable to detect the heartbeat. We were asked to go to the hospital to be on the safe side and to take my hospital bag as they would probably induce the labour. At this point we were very worried but still trying not worry too much as these things sometimes happen and we were still expecting to be leaving the hospital with our healthy bundle.
When we reached the hospital very soon afterwards I was put straight on to a scanner and it was then that our worst fears became a reality. A consultant came into the room looked at the screen and confirmed what we could already see, that our baby had died there had been no signs, no blood loss, no pain and only the day before she had been wriggling around happily. Our whole world was turned upside down in minutes and our lives were never to be the same again.
The labour that followed was text book and lasted 2hours 50 minutes with no complications.
A perfect pregnancy, A perfect labour and A perfect 6lb 6oz beautiful baby girl except she never cried or opened her eyes or drew her first breath. We miss our Angel so much.
